Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented wordsmith with a passion for e-commerce and a knack for making complex technical information easy to understand? Vendasta is seeking a talented Shopify Technical Writer to join our growing team in Saskatoon. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating and maintaining high-quality documentation for our Shopify-related products and integrations, ensuring our users and partners have access to clear, comprehensive, and accurate resources. You will be responsible for developing help center articles, user guides, API documentation snippets, and other technical content that empowers users to fully leverage our solutions built on the Shopify platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and edit technical documentation for Shopify apps, integrations, and platform features.
- Create clear, concise, and accurate help center articles, user manuals, and FAQs.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and support teams to gather information and ensure accuracy.
- Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect product changes and enhancements.
- Ensure consistency in terminology, tone, and style across all documentation.
- Gather feedback from users and internal teams to continuously improve documentation.
- Assist in defining documentation standards and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, specifically with e-commerce or SaaS products.
- Strong understanding of the Shopify platform and its ecosystem (apps, APIs, themes).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly language.
- Proficiency with documentation tools and content management systems (e.g., Confluence, Zendesk Guide).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with HTML/CSS for formatting documentation.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Experience in a B2B SaaS environment.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices for help content.
