Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Night Porter to join our team at Oshawa Lakeside Resort by Hilton. This vital role ensures the safety, security, and comfort of our guests during the overnight hours. The Night Porter is responsible for various tasks including light maintenance, guest assistance, security rounds, and maintaining the cleanliness of public areas. This position offers a safe work environment and potential housing solutions for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular security checks and patrols of the resort premises, including guest floors and public areas.
- Assist guests with inquiries, requests, and minor issues during the night shift.
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems, responding to any alerts or incidents promptly and according to protocol.
- Handle late-night arrivals and early morning departures, ensuring a smooth check-in/check-out process.
- Carry out light cleaning and tidying of common areas, ensuring the resort is presentable for the morning.
- Prepare meeting rooms or public spaces for upcoming events as needed.
- Address any emergency situations, such as fire alarms or medical emergencies, contacting relevant authorities.
- Complete overnight administrative tasks and reports.
- Ensure all resort doors and windows are secure.
- Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Physical ability to perform duties including walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or security role is an asset.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of local Oshawa area attractions and services.
