Job Description
Join the UNFI team as a Morning Order Selector and play a vital role in our fast-paced distribution center. This position is perfect for early risers who thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy the satisfaction of completing their workday by early afternoon. As an Order Selector, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently picking customer orders using voice-activated technology, ensuring products are ready for shipment. This physically active role requires attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately select products from warehouse shelves based on pick tickets or voice commands.
- Operate various material handling equipment safely, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery (training provided if needed).
- Verify product count, quality, and condition before packaging and loading.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding inventory discrepancies or product issues.
- Meet daily productivity and accuracy goals.
- Work collaboratively with the warehouse team to ensure efficient operation.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, both written and verbal.
- Comfortable working in various warehouse temperatures (e.g., dry, cooler, freezer areas).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift).
- Familiarity with voice-activated picking systems.
