Job Description

Join UW Health as a Resident Assistant in our compassionate Assisted Living Facility. In this vital role, you will provide essential daily living support and personal care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Support residents with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using appropriate equipment.
  • Administer or assist with medication reminders under direct supervision of nursing staff.
  • Monitor and report changes in residents' physical, mental, or emotional status to the nursing team.
  • Encourage resident participation in social activities and promote a stimulating environment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for residents.
  • Document observations and care provided accurately and timely.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to resident calls and needs.
  • Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and state regulations.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) program OR equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents safely.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of elder care principles.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Wisconsin Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Previous experience in an assisted living, long-term care, or similar facility.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
