Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Refinery Technician for immediate hire to join our operations in Vacaville, California. As a Refinery Technician, you will be a critical part of our team, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of refinery units and equipment. This role involves monitoring processes, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor refinery processing units and equipment from a control room and field.
- Conduct routine inspections, collect samples, and perform minor maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions under supervision.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Record operational data, maintain logs, and generate reports.
- Participate in emergency response training and activities.
- Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and maintenance personnel to optimize unit performance.
- Identify and report potential hazards or abnormal operating conditions.
- Assist with unit startups, shutdowns, and turnarounds.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a refinery, chemical plant, power plant, or similar heavy industrial environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and other technical documents
- Proficiency in basic computer applications
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety and environmental compliance
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certificate in Process Technology, Chemical Operations, or related field
- Experience with distributed control systems (DCS) and process control software
- Basic knowledge of refinery processes and equipment (e.g., distillation, cracking, reforming)
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, and Hot Work procedures
