Job Description
Are you an experienced Reach Truck Operator looking for a role with significant earning potential? XPO Logistics in Akron, OH is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Reach Truck Operator to join our bustling distribution center. This is a critical role responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods within our warehouse, contributing directly to our operational success. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a stand-up reach truck and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and retrieve products.
- Load and unload trailers and containers, ensuring proper product placement and documentation.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any malfunctions or damage.
- Accurately track inventory movements and maintain precise records.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as OSHA regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support team operations.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of proven experience operating a reach truck in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and practices.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs independently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Basic mathematical and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting and independently.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid reach truck certification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with scanning equipment and inventory control procedures.
