Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our fully remote telehealth team. This is an exceptional opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to a diverse patient population across multiple states, utilizing a secure and user-friendly virtual platform. As a PMHNP with Optum Virtual Care, you will play a crucial role in delivering direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management, all from a remote setting. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments via teleconferencing.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health disorders in adult and adolescent populations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans, including psychopharmacology and psychotherapy referrals.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, adhering to best practice guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Provide patient education regarding mental health conditions, medication effects, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough electronic health records.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations concerning telehealth and psychiatric practice.
Required Skills
- Current, unrestricted Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license in at least one U.S. state (multi-state licensure preferred or willingness to obtain additional licenses).
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a psychiatric mental health specialization.
- Board Certification as a PMHNP (ANCC).
- Current DEA registration.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
- Excellent diagnostic, clinical assessment, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport remotely.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively in a remote environment.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active PMHNP licensure in multiple U.S. states.
- Experience with various telehealth technologies and virtual care delivery models.
- Familiarity with value-based care models in behavioral health.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin).
