Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Policy Support Associate to join our dynamic Public Sector consulting team in Cambridge, MA. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals eager to begin a career at the intersection of public policy, government, and strategic consulting. As a Policy Support Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients by conducting research, analyzing policy impacts, and assisting in the development of recommendations. This position offers comprehensive training to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge, alongside eligibility for performance-based bonuses. You will collaborate with experienced consultants on high-impact projects, gaining invaluable exposure to complex policy challenges and strategic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research on various public policy issues, regulations, and legislative proposals at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Analyze policy documents, legislative texts, and public comments to identify key trends, implications, and potential impacts.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and policy briefs for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Support senior consultants in client meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities, including note-taking and documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of policy recommendations and strategic solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Maintain organized records of research findings, policy data, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members across various project phases and workstreams.
  • Participate actively in internal training programs and professional development initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Government, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated interest in public policy, government affairs, or social impact.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or academic project experience in policy research, government, or a non-profit organization.
  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Experience with data analysis tools or statistical software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
