Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Specialist with a strong focus on autonomous technologies to join our team in Topeka, Kansas. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing our fleet logistics, specifically as it pertains to the integration and operation of autonomous vehicles and systems. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods, managing fleet resources, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance our autonomous logistics capabilities. This position requires a blend of traditional logistics expertise and a forward-thinking approach to emerging autonomous technologies in the transportation sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for integrating autonomous vehicles into existing fleet operations.
- Monitor and optimize fleet performance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational efficiency for both human-operated and autonomous assets.
- Collaborate with technology partners and internal engineering teams on the testing, deployment, and scaling of autonomous logistics solutions.
- Analyze fleet data to identify areas for improvement, reduce operational costs, and enhance service delivery.
- Manage vendor relationships with autonomous technology providers, ensuring seamless integration and support.
- Oversee route planning, scheduling, and dispatch for a diverse fleet, incorporating autonomous vehicle capabilities.
- Develop training materials and procedures for staff on autonomous fleet operations and safety protocols.
- Ensure all logistics operations comply with relevant local, state, and federal transportation regulations, particularly those pertaining to autonomous vehicles.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on fleet performance, autonomous technology adoption, and project milestones.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Proven experience with or strong understanding of autonomous vehicle technologies, telematics, and fleet optimization software.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working with AI/ML driven logistics platforms.
- Certifications in Project Management (PMP) or Supply Chain Management (CSCP, CPIM).
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for autonomous vehicles in transportation.
