Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Pharmacy Technician I in Birmingham, AL. This entry-level position is perfect for freshers eager to start a rewarding career in pharmacy. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will assist in various aspects of pharmacy operations, including prescription filling, customer service, and inventory management. This role offers comprehensive training and a clear path for professional growth within CVS Health.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns.
- Process prescription orders, including data entry and insurance verification.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and assisting with ordering.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Operate pharmacy equipment and technology systems proficiently.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations, as well as company policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and privacy (HIPAA)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior customer service experience
- Pharmacy Technician Trainee License (if required by state law, or willingness to obtain)
- Bilingual abilities (especially Spanish)
