Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team for evening and night shifts in Vacaville, CA. This crucial role involves supporting pharmacists in providing safe, effective, and timely medication services to our patients during off-peak hours. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Process patient prescriptions, including data entry, insurance verification, and resolution of basic billing issues.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock, placing orders, and removing expired drugs.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering patient questions, processing payments, and directing inquiries to pharmacists when necessary.
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds as directed by a pharmacist.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the pharmacy area and equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs.
Required Skills
- Current California Pharmacy Technician License
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team during evening and night shifts
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (e.g., PTCB or NHA)
- One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Familiarity with sterile compounding procedures
