Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Part-time Virtual Host to facilitate our weekend webinars and online events. This remote role is crucial for ensuring a smooth, engaging, and professional experience for both our event creators and their attendees. You will be the friendly face and technical backbone of our virtual gatherings, providing critical support from behind the scenes and interacting directly with participants to foster a positive event environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-event technical checks with presenters and moderators to ensure audio, video, and screen sharing functionality.
- Warmly welcome attendees to virtual events and provide clear instructions for engagement features (chat, Q&A, polls).
- Monitor event chat and Q&A channels, moderating discussions and escalating technical or content-related issues as needed.
- Provide real-time technical support to attendees and presenters experiencing connectivity or platform issues.
- Manage virtual waiting rooms, admit participants, and ensure timely start and end times for all sessions.
- Assist with basic presentation controls, such as launching polls, sharing pre-recorded content, or highlighting comments.
- Maintain a professional and calm demeanor, even during high-pressure situations.
- Provide post-event feedback to event organizers regarding technical performance and attendee engagement.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong technical aptitude and comfort with various webinar and virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom, Hopin, Microsoft Teams, Webex).
- Exceptional customer service skills and a patient, helpful attitude.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot common technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially under live event conditions.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet workspace.
- Availability to work primarily on weekends and some evenings as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a virtual host, event moderator, or technical support for online events.
- Familiarity with Eventbrite's platform and its integration with third-party webinar tools.
- Experience in customer-facing roles within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and processes.
