Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pipeline Surveyor to join our field operations team. This field-based role is crucial for ensuring the integrity, safety, and efficiency of our extensive pipeline network. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting precise surveys, collecting critical data, and contributing to the accurate mapping and maintenance of our pipeline infrastructure. A company vehicle will be provided for travel to various field sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily field surveys of existing pipelines, rights-of-way, and new construction routes.
- Utilize GPS, total stations, and other surveying equipment to collect accurate geospatial data.
- Perform stakeouts, grade checks, and as-built surveys for pipeline projects.
- Interpret engineering drawings, alignment sheets, and legal descriptions.
- Maintain accurate field notes, data logs, and survey records.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and construction crews.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Troubleshoot and maintain surveying equipment.
- Assist in the preparation of survey reports and documentation.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in operating GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
- Strong understanding of surveying principles and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and schematics.
- Excellent data collection and record-keeping skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently in various outdoor environments and weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certificate in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation).
- Knowledge of pipeline construction and maintenance processes.
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations pertaining to pipeline operations.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
