Job Description
Are you passionate about working with children and creating engaging, fun experiences? The YMCA of Pasco County is seeking a dedicated Part-time After-School Club Playworker with a special focus on weekend events. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising children in our after-school program and during special weekend activities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and active participation in planned play and educational activities. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging play activities, crafts, and games for children aged 5-12.
- Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times, both during after-school hours and weekend events.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow.
- Assist with setting up and packing away equipment and activity areas.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and fellow staff members.
- Adhere to all YMCA policies and procedures, including child protection guidelines.
- Provide first aid as needed and complete incident reports thoroughly.
Required Skills
- Experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage children in a variety of activities.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or recreation.
- Experience with planning and executing community or youth events.
- Knowledge of child development stages and appropriate activities.
- A valid Florida driver's license.
