Job Description
Join Kaiser Permanente as a Nursing Assistant and become an integral part of our compassionate healthcare team. In this full-time day position, you will provide essential support to nurses and other medical staff, ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role is crucial for maintaining patient comfort, safety, and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff.
- Help patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, ensuring proper body mechanics and patient safety.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment, including changing linens and tidying rooms.
- Respond to patient call lights promptly and courteously.
- Assist with basic wound care, specimen collection, and other delegated tasks under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
- Document care provided accurately and timely in electronic health records.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills for electronic documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care or skilled nursing facility.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly Epic.
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program.
- Fluency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, Tagalog).
