Job Description
Are you a highly organized individual with a passion for music and a knack for administration? Guitar Center in Downey is seeking a dedicated Music Lesson Coordinator to manage the administrative aspects of our vibrant music lesson program. In this crucial role, you will be the central point of contact for students, parents, and instructors, ensuring smooth operations, efficient scheduling, and an exceptional experience for everyone involved. This position requires strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a dynamic musical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage instructor schedules, student enrollment, and lesson bookings using our proprietary scheduling software.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all lesson-related inquiries, providing excellent customer service to students, parents, and instructors.
- Process lesson payments, manage billing inquiries, and maintain accurate financial records for the lesson program.
- Coordinate student placement with appropriate instructors based on skill level, availability, and musical interests.
- Maintain and update student and instructor records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with marketing and promotional activities for the lesson program to drive enrollment.
- Prepare and distribute lesson materials, contracts, and welcome packets.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts, student concerns, and instructor issues professionally and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative or coordination experience, preferably in an educational or music-related setting.
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace) and strong computer literacy.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine passion for music education and fostering a positive learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music, Arts Administration, Business, or a related field.
- Experience with scheduling software or CRM systems.
- Prior experience in customer service or client-facing roles.
- Familiarity with musical instruments and basic music terminology.
