Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Mobile Vaccination Nurse to join our Community Outreach team in Boulder, Colorado. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in delivering essential vaccination services directly to diverse communities, focusing on accessibility and public health education. This position requires a proactive, independent, and empathetic healthcare professional committed to making a tangible impact on community well-being. You will travel to various locations within Boulder and surrounding areas, setting up and managing vaccination clinics, administering vaccines, and providing crucial health information.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer vaccinations (e.g., flu, COVID-19, other public health vaccines) in various community settings including schools, workplaces, community centers, and mobile clinics.
- Assess patient health status, review medical histories, and ensure appropriate vaccine administration according to protocols.
- Educate patients and community members on vaccine benefits, potential side effects, and general public health information.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including vaccination logs and consent forms.
- Manage vaccine inventory, ensure proper storage and handling, and report any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with community partners and public health officials to identify target populations and optimize outreach efforts.
- Provide basic first aid and emergency care if adverse reactions occur post-vaccination.
- Adhere to all UCHealth policies, procedures, and relevant state and federal regulations.
- Set up and break down mobile clinic stations efficiently and safely.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small mobile team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in community health, public health, or mobile clinic settings.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin) is highly desirable.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
