Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Mobile Bicycle Service Technician to join our growing team in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert bicycle tune-ups and minor repairs directly at our clients’ homes or preferred locations. You will operate a fully equipped service vehicle, bringing convenience and professional bike maintenance to our valued customers. Key Responsibilities
- Travel to customer locations within the Peterborough and surrounding Cambridgeshire area to perform scheduled bicycle tune-ups and minor repairs.
- Conduct thorough diagnostic checks to identify any issues and recommend necessary services or repairs.
- Perform comprehensive bike tune-ups, including brake adjustments, gear indexing, tire inflation, chain lubrication, and safety checks.
- Provide clear explanations of services performed and offer expert advice on bike maintenance to customers.
- Manage a daily schedule of appointments efficiently and ensure timely arrival at customer locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked service vehicle with necessary tools and spare parts.
- Process payments and accurately complete service reports.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) in bicycle mechanics and maintenance, particularly with various bike types (road, mountain, hybrid, e-bikes).
- Strong understanding of bicycle components and their function.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid UK driving license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools and diagnostic equipment for bicycles.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver bicycles and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cytech Level 2 or equivalent professional bicycle mechanic qualification.
- Previous experience in a mobile service role.
- Knowledge of e-bike systems and troubleshooting.
- A passion for cycling and staying up-to-date with industry trends.
