Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Military Base Mess Hall Cleaner to join our team in a secure civilian role. This vital position ensures a clean, sanitary, and welcoming dining environment for military personnel. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in the mess hall, including dining areas, kitchens, and dishwashing stations. This is an on-site role requiring strict adherence to security protocols and base regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize dining tables, chairs, floors, and other surfaces in the mess hall.
- Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment, ensuring all dishes, utensils, and cookware are thoroughly cleaned and stored.
- Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Sweep, mop, and buff floors regularly to maintain cleanliness and prevent slip hazards.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, food preparation areas, and storage areas as directed.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including HACCP standards.
- Report any maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies are low.
- Follow all military base security procedures and protocols diligently.
- Perform other cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and obtain military base access.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 25 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in cleaning or custodial services, particularly in a commercial or institutional setting.
- Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment (e.g., floor buffers, industrial dishwashers).
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations, including HACCP principles.
- High school diploma or GED.
