Job Description
As a Mental Health Support Aide at Priory Group, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and practical support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. This is a truly meaningful and rewarding position where your daily actions will contribute directly to the well-being and recovery of our patients. You will work within a dedicated multidisciplinary team, assisting with daily activities, therapeutic interventions, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and assistance to patients in their daily routines, promoting independence and well-being.
- Engage patients in therapeutic activities and social interactions, under the guidance of clinical staff.
- Monitor and observe patient behavior and mental state, reporting any concerns promptly to the nursing team.
- Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment within the facility.
- Support patients with their personal care needs, respecting dignity and privacy.
- Accurately complete necessary documentation and contribute to care planning as required.
- Participate in team meetings and handover sessions to ensure continuity of care.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Resilience and a calm demeanor in challenging situations.
- Basic understanding of mental health conditions (or willingness to learn).
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to protocols.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care or support role, especially within mental health settings.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent qualification.
- First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
