Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Medical Records Pharmacy Aide with a strong focus on data entry and filing to join our pharmacy team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for accurately maintaining and organizing patient medication records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and supporting the pharmacy’s operational efficiency. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to patient confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient medication information into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems for prescriptions, patient histories, and other pharmacy-related documents.
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of medical records, identifying and rectifying discrepancies.
  • Ensure all patient information and pharmacy records comply with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
  • Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with retrieving and organizing patient files as needed.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing documentation, including faxes, emails, and physical mail.
  • Archive inactive records according to established policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to the pharmacy department as required.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in data entry with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or pharmacy setting.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
