Job Description
Join Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. as a Medical Oxygen Driver, an essential role critical to healthcare operations. In this position, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of medical oxygen and related gases to hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and homecare patients. This is a stable, full-time opportunity for a dedicated professional who values safety, customer service, and contributing to vital community services. You will operate specialized vehicles, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. This role requires careful attention to detail, strong physical stamina, and a commitment to patient well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport medical oxygen cylinders and related equipment to various healthcare facilities and residential addresses.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, ensuring all safety standards are met.
- Load and unload medical gas cylinders, which may involve lifting and maneuvering heavy items.
- Verify correct product and quantity against delivery manifests, obtaining necessary signatures.
- Provide exceptional customer service, interacting professionally and courteously with hospital staff, patients, and caregivers.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and vehicle records.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT), local, state, and federal regulations, including hazardous materials handling.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and report any vehicle issues promptly.
- Handle emergency deliveries as needed, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record with no major infractions.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy cylinders (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazmat endorsement on CDL.
- Previous experience (1+ year) as a commercial driver, particularly in medical supply or hazardous materials transport.
- Forklift certification.
- Familiarity with the Land O' Lakes and greater Tampa Bay area routes.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
