Job Description

We are actively seeking enthusiastic and diligent individuals to join our team as Kale & Spinach Pickers. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for those who thrive in an outdoor environment, possess a meticulous eye for detail, and are dedicated to upholding organic farming principles. As a vital member of our harvest team, you will be responsible for the careful hand-picking of kale and spinach, ensuring that the highest standards of quality and freshness are consistently met for our valued customers. This is an on-site position at our beautiful farm located just outside Oxford.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately identify and hand-pick ripe kale and spinach according to stringent quality standards.
  • Work efficiently and methodically to achieve daily harvest targets.
  • Adhere strictly to all organic farming protocols and food safety guidelines.
  • Maintain exemplary cleanliness and organisation of all harvesting tools and equipment.
  • Provide assistance with other general farm duties as required, which may include weeding, planting, or packing.
  • Promptly report any observations regarding crop health issues or equipment malfunctions to the farm manager.
  • Collaborate effectively and professionally with the wider farm team to ensure seamless operational flow.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physical labour, including frequent bending, lifting, and standing for prolonged periods in varied weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated excellent attention to detail and the capability to follow instructions precisely.
  • A strong, proactive work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a proven commitment to consistent attendance.
  • Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in agricultural work, particularly within organic farming or horticulture environments.
  • Familiarity with various kale and spinach varieties.
  • A genuine interest in sustainable farming practices and organic produce.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
