Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Solar Farm Groundskeeper to join our operations team in Nottingham. This full-time, permanent position involves essential outdoor work, maintaining the grounds of our solar farms to ensure optimal functionality and appearance. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, possess a keen eye for detail, and be committed to working safely and efficiently in an outdoor environment. You will play a crucial role in the upkeep of our valuable renewable energy assets, contributing directly to our mission of delivering clean energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, strimming, weeding, and brush cutting around solar panels and perimeter fencing.
- Operate and maintain a range of groundskeeping equipment safely and effectively, ensuring all tools are in good working order.
- Monitor the site for any hazards, damage, or unauthorized access, reporting issues promptly to the site manager.
- Assist with general site upkeep, including litter picking, minor repairs to fencing or pathways, and comprehensive vegetation management.
- Ensure all work is carried out in strict compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and any incidents encountered.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members, contractors, and visitors to the site as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in groundskeeping or similar outdoor manual labour roles.
- Ability to operate various grounds maintenance equipment (e.g., mowers, strimmers, brush cutters) with proficiency.
- Strong understanding and adherence to health and safety procedures in an outdoor working environment.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
- Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transportation to reach remote solar farm locations.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on solar farms or other utility-scale infrastructure sites.
- Relevant certifications in horticulture, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
- Current First Aid certification.
