Job Description

As a Hotel Porter, you will be the first point of contact for many of our guests, setting the tone for their stay. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting guests with their luggage, ensuring efficient check-in and check-out processes, and providing helpful information about the hotel and local area. You will be an integral part of our front-of-house team, contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere and ensuring every guest experiences the high standards of Hilton hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet guests upon arrival and departure, offering immediate assistance.
  • Safely and efficiently handle guest luggage, packages, and other items, transporting them to and from rooms.
  • Assist guests with hotel services, amenities, and provide accurate information about local attractions and transportation.
  • Support the front desk and concierge teams as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the hotel lobby, entrance area, and luggage storage.
  • Deliver newspapers, messages, and other items to guest rooms promptly and discreetly.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and inquiries, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Assist with valeting vehicles if required, adhering to all safety protocols.

Required Skills

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry luggage (up to 25kg).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a clear and polite manner.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, or customer-facing role.
  • Familiarity with Glasgow city, its attractions, and local amenities.
  • Valid UK driving license (desirable for occasional valet services, but not essential).
