Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Healthcare Records Aide to join our team in a professional, remote work-from-home capacity. This crucial role is responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of patient health information, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, including HIPAA. The successful candidate will work diligently to manage electronic health records (EHR) and other medical documentation, contributing to efficient patient care and operational excellence. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility while maintaining high professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate and complete electronic health records (EHR).
- Process patient information requests, including scanning, indexing, and filing documents.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to resolve documentation discrepancies.
- Perform quality checks on medical records to ensure data integrity and completeness.
- Assist with the retrieval and delivery of medical records as requested by authorized personnel.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or a related field.
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Medical Office Assistant (MOA).
- Experience with Epic or Cerner EHR systems.
- Prior experience in a remote work setting.
