Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and handy individual to join our team as a Gym Maintenance Hand at our Mount Pearl location. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring our club facilities remain in excellent condition, providing a safe, clean, and functional environment for our members and staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of general maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of gym equipment and facilities.
- Conduct minor repairs on gym equipment, fixtures, and general club infrastructure (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks to prolong the lifespan of equipment and facilities.
- Address member and staff maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance areas and storage rooms.
- Assist with equipment assembly, relocation, or disposal as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Monitor and report on inventory levels for maintenance supplies and tools.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in general maintenance or handyman roles.
- Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on various equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting and carrying.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in a trade (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical) is a plus.
- Previous experience in a fitness center or similar facility.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
