Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in Lakewood, Colorado. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload materials within our warehouse or distribution center. This position offers a safety bonus for consistent adherence to all safety protocols and achieving operational excellence. You will play a crucial part in maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring the efficient flow of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move products and materials.
- Load and unload trailers, ensuring proper securing and accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport goods to designated areas within the facility, including racking, staging, and shipping lanes.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding operational status and safety concerns.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Valid forklift operator certification or ability to obtain one quickly upon hire.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and protocols.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a variety of forklift types (e.g., counterbalance, reach, order picker).
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning equipment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced logistics or manufacturing environment.
