Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Forklift Battery Changer to join our warehouse maintenance team. This is an entry-level position where we are committed to providing comprehensive training to the right candidate. You will be responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of our forklift fleet by performing timely and safe battery changes and conducting basic maintenance checks. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently change forklift batteries using proper equipment and procedures.
- Perform routine visual inspections of batteries and charging equipment, reporting any issues.
- Maintain the battery charging area, ensuring it is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Monitor battery levels and proactively manage the battery rotation schedule to minimize downtime.
- Assist with basic warehouse maintenance tasks as needed, under supervision.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout protocols.
- Accurately record battery changes and maintenance activities.
- Operate an industrial truck (forklift) to transport batteries, once trained and certified.
Required Skills
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (with assistance and proper equipment).
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or industrial setting (not required, but a plus).
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems or battery maintenance (training will be provided).
