Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and physically capable individuals to join our team as Hub Laborers at our Huntsville Ground facility. This vital role is responsible for the efficient loading, unloading, sorting, and scanning of packages within our fast-paced distribution center. You will play a critical part in ensuring packages are moved safely and accurately through our network, contributing directly to our promise of reliable delivery. This position offers top hourly rates in the region and an excellent opportunity to start a career with a global logistics leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform physical loading, unloading, and sorting of packages by hand, scanning labels, and placing them on appropriate conveyors or in designated areas.
- Operate package handling equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other non-motorized equipment, after receiving proper training.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Scan packages using handheld devices and ensure accuracy of package information.
- Identify and separate packages requiring special handling or those with damaged packaging.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
- Regularly lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 75 lbs; assist with packages weighing over 75 lbs.
- Stand and walk for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 75 lbs and maneuver packages over 75 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical environment, often exposed to varying temperatures, noise levels, and dusty conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physically demanding role.
- Experience with package scanning equipment or inventory management systems.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
