Job Description

Live Nation Entertainment is seeking a dynamic and driven A&R Scout Trainee to join our team. This entry-level role is perfect for someone with zero to minimal experience who is eager to learn the ropes of artist and repertoire (A&R) within the live music and entertainment industry. You will work closely with experienced A&R professionals, assisting in the discovery, nurturing, and development of promising artists. This is a hands-on position requiring extensive networking, active participation in local music scenes, and a relentless pursuit of groundbreaking talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively research and identify emerging artists, bands, and performers across various genres, primarily within the local and regional music scene.
  • Attend live shows, open mics, showcases, and music festivals to scout and evaluate talent.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network within the music community, including artists, managers, producers, and industry influencers.
  • Assist senior A&R staff in reviewing demos, digital submissions, and online content.
  • Prepare detailed reports and analyses on discovered artists, including market potential, stylistic comparisons, and performance metrics.
  • Stay updated on current music trends, industry news, and competitor activities.
  • Support administrative tasks related to artist outreach and database management.
  • Participate in creative discussions and strategy meetings to contribute fresh perspectives on artist development.

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Previous experience volunteering or interning in the music industry.
  • Demonstrated involvement in local music scenes (e.g., band member, promoter, blogger).
  • Familiarity with music production software or recording processes.
