Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Independent Shopify Consultant to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in guiding global brands through their Shopify journey, from strategic planning and platform selection to implementation oversight and optimization. You will act as a trusted advisor, leveraging your deep expertise in Shopify and broader e-commerce best practices to solve complex challenges and drive tangible business results. This role requires a blend of technical acumen, strategic thinking, and exceptional client communication skills to deliver tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary e-commerce and Shopify subject matter expert for assigned clients, providing strategic guidance and best practices.
- Conduct comprehensive discovery sessions to understand client business objectives, challenges, and technical requirements.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and solution architectures, primarily utilizing the Shopify ecosystem (Shopify Plus, apps, integrations).
- Oversee the successful implementation and launch of new Shopify stores and features, ensuring alignment with project scope and client expectations.
- Provide ongoing consultation and support, identifying opportunities for optimization, performance improvement, and new feature adoption.
- Collaborate closely with internal development, design, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.
- Stay abreast of the latest Shopify updates, e-commerce trends, and industry innovations to continuously enhance service offerings.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, fostering trust and long-term partnerships.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Shopify platform, particularly Shopify Plus.
- Proven track record in e-commerce strategy, solution design, and implementation.
- Strong understanding of front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end (Liquid, APIs) aspects of Shopify.
- Experience with Shopify app ecosystem and third-party integrations (ERP, CRM, payment gateways, shipping solutions).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Shopify Partner/Expert certification or relevant industry certifications.
- Experience with other e-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento, BigCommerce) is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.
- Experience working with international clients and understanding global e-commerce nuances.
