Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Export Warehouse Packer to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. This role is crucial for ensuring that all outbound international shipments are packed and prepared according to stringent international standards and customs regulations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will play a vital role in our global logistics operations, ensuring that products reach their international destinations safely and compliantly.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pack, label, and prepare goods for international export in accordance with specified international standards, customer requirements, and customs regulations.
- Verify product quantities, types, and quality against shipping manifests and invoices.
- Operate various warehouse equipment safely, including pallet jacks and possibly forklifts (if certified), to move and stage products.
- Perform quality control checks on packed items to ensure they meet integrity and safety standards for international transit.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including receiving, storing, and tracking goods within the warehouse.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Document and report any discrepancies or damages encountered during the packing process.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents and packing instructions.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and label generation.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and carry packages up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Understanding and adherence to workplace safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ year) in a warehouse, logistics, or packing role, especially with export goods.
- Familiarity with international shipping documents (e.g., commercial invoices, packing lists).
- Forklift operator certification or experience operating other material handling equipment.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
