Job Description

In this role, you will play a crucial part in identifying energy consumption patterns and efficiency opportunities for residential and commercial customers. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site energy audits at residential and commercial properties, collecting detailed data on building envelopes, HVAC systems, lighting, and appliances.
- Utilize specialized diagnostic equipment (e.g., thermal cameras, blower doors, combustion analyzers) under supervision to assess energy performance.
- Document audit findings accurately using company-provided software and tools, including taking photographs and detailed notes.
- Assist senior energy auditors in analyzing data and preparing comprehensive reports on energy efficiency recommendations.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with property owners, tenants, and team members regarding audit processes and initial findings.
- Stay current with emerging energy efficiency technologies, building codes, and industry best practices through continuous learning.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while performing field duties.
- Contribute to the development of energy efficiency programs and outreach initiatives.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Strong observational and analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently in various field conditions and as part of a collaborative team.
- Comfortable operating basic computer software and mobile applications for data entry.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn about energy systems and efficiency principles.
- Physical ability to navigate diverse environments, including climbing ladders, entering confined spaces, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering Technology, Environmental Science, Construction Management, HVAC).
- Basic understanding of building science principles, thermodynamics, or electrical systems.
- Familiarity with data collection methods and reporting tools.
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role or field-based position.
- Interest in pursuing industry certifications such as BPI (Building Performance Institute) or RESNET (Residential Energy Services Network).
