Job Description
As a Telehealth Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patient symptoms, providing medical advice, education, and coordinating care through virtual platforms. You will use your clinical expertise to guide patients through health concerns, determine appropriate levels of care, and ensure timely interventions, all while upholding the highest standards of patient safety and satisfaction in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive virtual nursing assessments to identify patient needs and concerns.
- Provide professional nursing advice, education, and support to patients via phone and video conferencing.
- Triage patient symptoms to determine the urgency and appropriate level of care, including self-care, urgent care, emergency room visits, or physician appointments.
- Document all patient interactions accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and referrals.
- Educate patients on medication management, disease prevention, and health promotion.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance telehealth skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas or compact state.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care or relevant clinical nursing experience.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth platforms.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- High-speed internet connection and a dedicated, private workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience in telehealth, telephone triage, or remote patient monitoring.
- Certifications in BLS and ACLS.
- Familiarity with chronic disease management.
