Job Description

Join PPL Corporation as an Energy Project Scheduler Trainee and embark on a rewarding management path within our crucial energy infrastructure projects. This entry-level position is designed for ambitious individuals eager to learn the fundamentals of project scheduling and control within the energy sector. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship, learning to develop, monitor, and update project schedules for various energy initiatives, including generation, transmission, and distribution projects. This role is a direct pipeline to a management career, providing foundational knowledge and practical experience essential for leading future energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of detailed project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6).
  • Learn to identify critical path activities and potential scheduling conflicts.
  • Support project managers in tracking project progress, identifying deviations, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Participate in project meetings, accurately recording and distributing relevant scheduling information.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather data for schedule updates.
  • Prepare various scheduling reports and analyses to support decision-making.
  • Understand and apply project management principles and PPL's internal processes.
  • Actively engage in training programs and mentorship opportunities to advance professional skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong desire to learn and develop a career in project management within the energy industry.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of project management concepts or experience with scheduling tools.
  • Prior experience in an office environment or with data entry/analysis.
  • Familiarity with the energy or utility industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
