Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Endoscopy Nurse (RN) to join our specialized GI Endoscopy Clinic in Coral Gables. This full-time position operates during day shifts only, offering a stable and predictable schedule for a healthy work-life balance. The Endoscopy Nurse will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care during various endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, and bronchoscopies. You will be responsible for patient preparation, monitoring during procedures, and post-procedure recovery care, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN passionate about gastrointestinal health and procedural nursing.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, including obtaining vital signs, medical history, and IV access.
- Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures, ensuring sterile technique and proper equipment handling.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, sedation levels, and overall condition throughout procedures.
- Administer medications as directed by the physician, including conscious sedation.
- Provide comprehensive post-procedure care, monitoring recovery, educating patients and families on discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform equipment setup, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting.
- Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in endoscopy, PACU, or critical care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of gastrointestinal anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Proficiency in administering conscious sedation and monitoring sedated patients.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN) certification.
- Experience with various endoscopic equipment and technologies.
- Previous experience in a specialized GI clinic or hospital setting.
