Job Description
Are you a night owl looking for flexible, independent work? Voi Technology is seeking dedicated E-scooter & E-bike Fleet Rechargers to join our growing team in Preston. This vital role involves collecting low-battery e-scooters and e-bikes from various locations across the city, transporting them to your home or a designated charging hub, recharging them using Voi-provided equipment, and then redeploying them to strategic high-demand areas. This is an independent contractor role, perfect for individuals who enjoy working autonomously during night hours. You’ll play a critical part in ensuring our fleet is ready for use each morning, contributing directly to the success of sustainable urban transport in Preston.
Key Responsibilities
- Locate and collect Voi e-scooters and e-bikes with low battery levels using our proprietary app.
- Transport collected vehicles safely and efficiently to your home or a designated charging location.
- Utilize Voi-provided charging equipment to fully recharge e-scooters and e-bikes overnight.
- Redeploy fully charged vehicles to designated high-demand zones throughout Preston before morning commuters.
- Ensure proper placement and parking of vehicles to comply with local regulations and maintain street accessibility.
- Conduct basic visual inspections of vehicles for damage and report any issues via the app.
- Manage your time effectively to meet nightly collection, charging, and redeployment targets.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety guidelines while collecting and deploying vehicles.
Required Skills
- Access to a reliable vehicle (car, van, or large cargo bike) capable of transporting multiple e-scooters/e-bikes.
- Valid UK driving license (if operating a motor vehicle).
- Smartphone with data plan and ability to use Voi's operational app.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently during night hours.
- Physical capability to lift and move e-scooters and e-bikes (up to 25kg).
- Basic understanding of local geography within Preston.
- A safe, secure space for charging multiple devices (e.g., garage, secure shed, or suitable home space).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in logistics, delivery, or gig economy roles.
- Familiarity with Preston city layout and high-traffic areas.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
