Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Car Carrier Trailer Loader (Mate) to join our team in Sioux Falls, SD. As a Mate, you will play a crucial supporting role in the safe and efficient transportation of vehicles across various locations. You will work closely with our lead drivers, assisting with the loading, securing, and unloading of vehicles onto multi-level car carrier trailers. This position requires strong physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to adhering to strict safety protocols. You will also be instrumental in directing traffic during loading and unloading operations and traveling with the driver to ensure smooth logistics. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the safe and efficient loading and unloading of various vehicles onto multi-level car carrier trailers.
- Operate vehicle loading equipment, including winches and ramps, as directed by the lead driver.
- Secure vehicles using chains, straps, and chocks according to established company and regulatory standards.
- Direct traffic safely and effectively during loading and unloading operations, ensuring clear pathways and preventing incidents.
- Perform detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trailers, securement equipment, and vehicles.
- Travel with the lead driver as a mate, assisting with navigation, route planning, and potential roadside issues.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle conditions, loading procedures, and travel logs.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with the lead driver, dispatch, yard personnel, and other team members.
Required Skills
- Proven physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Exceptional attention to detail for precise vehicle securing and equipment inspection.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor equipment adjustments and troubleshooting.

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in logistics, warehousing, or the automotive industry.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation or trailer loading processes.
- Basic knowledge of DOT regulations for vehicle transportation.
- CDL-A permit or an active CDL-A license is considered a significant plus.
