Job Description

Are you an enthusiastic and experienced individual with a passion for dogs and a knack for leadership? We are seeking a dedicated Dog Daycare Supervisor to join our vibrant team in Norwich. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of our dog daycare, ensuring the well-being, safety, and happiness of all dogs under our supervision. You will manage a team of daycare assistants, coordinate activities, maintain a clean and safe environment, and act as a primary point of contact for pet parents. This is a high-energy, on-site role requiring strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and an unwavering love for our canine companions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage daily dog daycare operations, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
  • Lead, mentor, and train a team of Dog Daycare Assistants.
  • Develop and implement engaging group play activities and enrichment programs.
  • Monitor dog behavior, identify potential conflicts, and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain accurate records of dog attendance, behavior, and feeding schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with pet parents regarding their dog's day and any observations.
  • Ensure the facility is clean, hygienic, and well-maintained at all times.
  • Administer basic first aid to dogs as needed and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.
  • Handle customer inquiries, bookings, and resolve any concerns professionally.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and daily reports.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a dog daycare, kennel, or similar animal care setting.
  • Demonstrable leadership and team supervision experience.
  • Strong understanding of dog behavior, breeds, and play styles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina to handle active dogs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and scheduling.
  • Genuine love and respect for all animals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Pet First Aid and CPR.
  • Qualification in Animal Care, Animal Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with positive reinforcement training techniques.
  • Knowledge of local pet care regulations and best practices.
