Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Cross-Docking Associate to join our dynamic team in Vacaville, California. In this fast-paced logistics environment, you will play a critical role in the rapid transfer of freight from inbound to outbound trailers, minimizing storage time and maximizing operational flow. This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume setting where speed and accuracy are key to our success.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently unload inbound freight from trailers and quickly transfer to outbound trailers.
- Verify product counts and ensure accurate labeling and scanning of all shipments.
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and potentially forklifts (with proper certification) to move materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and company standards.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily cross-docking goals and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including sorting, loading, and general labor.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using handheld scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety procedures and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or cross-docking operation.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with FedEx shipping processes and systems.
