Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Container Loader to join our dynamic team in Portland, Oregon. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for ongoing work with a high hourly rate in a fast-paced logistics environment. As a Container Loader, you will be crucial to our operations, ensuring the efficient and safe loading and unloading of goods from containers and trailers. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently load and unload containers, trucks, and trailers using various material handling equipment or by hand.
  • Verify product quantities against shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Organize and stack goods safely and securely within containers to maximize space and prevent damage.
  • Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely and proficiently.
  • Inspect containers for damage and report any discrepancies or issues immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily loading and unloading targets.
  • Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse duties as needed.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly throughout a shift.
  • Strong physical stamina and endurance.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in counting and verifying products.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or loading/unloading role.
  • Experience operating a pallet jack or forklift (certification a plus).
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
