Job Description
Are you passionate about maintaining clean and inviting urban environments? ABM Industries is seeking a dedicated Chewing Gum Removal Operative to join our street work team in Oakland, CA. In this vital role, you will be responsible for meticulously removing chewing gum and other stubborn debris from sidewalks, plazas, and other public areas using advanced steam wand technology. This position requires a strong commitment to public cleanliness, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in an outdoor setting. You will contribute directly to enhancing the aesthetic appeal and hygiene of Oakland’s vibrant communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate specialized steam wand equipment to effectively remove chewing gum from various surfaces.
- Perform routine street cleaning and maintenance tasks, including litter picking and debris removal.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and equipment operating procedures.
- Conduct daily checks and basic maintenance of assigned equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
- Work efficiently and independently to cover designated areas within Oakland.
- Represent ABM Industries professionally while interacting with the public.

Required Skills
