Job Description
Are you ready to kickstart a rewarding career in transportation? XPO Logistics is offering an exceptional opportunity for aspiring professional drivers with our CDL Trainee program. This is a fully paid training initiative designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to obtain your Class A CDL. Upon successful completion of the training and obtaining your CDL, you are guaranteed a full-time driving position with XPO Logistics. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive support every step of the way, from classroom instruction to behind-the-wheel practice. This role offers a clear path to a stable and well-compensated career, contributing to the vital supply chain that keeps America moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in classroom instruction and practical driving exercises.
- Learn and adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
- Master the operation of commercial motor vehicles, including pre-trip inspections, backing maneuvers, and on-road driving.
- Pass the Class A CDL written and practical exams.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude throughout the training program.
- Upon certification, safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods over assigned routes.
- Complete all required paperwork and electronic logs accurately.
Required Skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Willingness to commit to a rigorous training program.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Prior experience in a physically demanding role.
