Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Catering Director to lead our catering operations at Hilton Garden Inn Hammond. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of our catering services, from initial client contact and menu planning to event execution and post-event follow-up. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sales acumen, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding culinary experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic catering sales plans to achieve revenue goals.
- Manage and mentor the catering sales and operations team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, ensuring seamless delivery and client satisfaction.
- Create innovative menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef, tailored to client preferences and dietary needs.
- Prepare detailed event orders, contracts, and proposals, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and community partners.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
- Manage catering budgets, control costs, and maximize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Represent the hotel at industry events and trade shows to promote catering services.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in catering sales or event management, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong negotiation and client relations skills.
- Proficiency in catering software (e.g., Delphi, Caterease) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with international clients and understanding of diverse cultural catering preferences.
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or similar professional certification.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
