Job Description
Are you eager to kickstart a rewarding career in the automotive industry? Boyd Autobody & Glass in Kelowna is seeking a motivated Car Paint Prep Trainee to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with no prior experience who are keen to learn the essential skills required for automotive paint preparation. You will work alongside experienced technicians, gaining hands-on knowledge in a fast-paced body shop environment. This role offers an incredible opportunity to learn the fundamentals of vehicle surface preparation, masking, and priming, setting the foundation for a successful career as an automotive painter or body technician. Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with vehicle preparation for painting.
- Clean and degrease vehicle surfaces thoroughly.
- Perform sanding, masking, and minor body filler work as directed.
- Apply primers and sealers to vehicle parts.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and body shop environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures.
- Learn and master new techniques and skills related to paint preparation.
- Assist with other general shop duties as needed.
Required Skills
- No prior experience required – we will train the right candidate!
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of hand tools is an asset.
- Valid driver's license.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
