Job Description

Music & Arts in New Port Richey is seeking a talented and passionate Brass Teacher specializing in Trumpet and Trombone for weekend instruction. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire budding musicians, from beginners to advanced students, in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be responsible for providing engaging and personalized lessons, helping students develop their technical skills, musicality, and a lifelong love for brass instruments. Ideal candidates will have a strong performance background and a genuine desire to teach and mentor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, engaging private and group lessons in trumpet and trombone to students of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Develop and implement customized lesson plans that cater to individual student needs and learning styles.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
  • Introduce students to music theory, history, and different musical styles relevant to brass instruments.
  • Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and performances as appropriate.
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress and goals.
  • Stay current with pedagogical techniques and brass repertoire.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional proficiency and performance ability on both trumpet and trombone.
  • Proven ability to teach and inspire students of all ages.
  • Strong understanding of music theory, harmony, and ear training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with various teaching methodologies and curriculum development.
  • Active performance experience in professional or community ensembles.
