Job Description
Join the Kroger team in Indianapolis as a Bottle Return Machine Emptier! This active and essential role is crucial to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient store environment for our valued customers. You will be responsible for the regular emptying, thorough cleaning, and basic maintenance of our bottle return machines, ensuring they are consistently ready for use. This position demands physical stamina, meticulous attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to cleanliness and customer satisfaction, directly contributing to a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Regularly empty bottle return machines and efficiently consolidate recyclable materials.
- Safely transport full containers of recyclables to designated storage or disposal areas.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize bottle return machines and surrounding areas to maintain the highest hygiene standards.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for machine jams or minor operational issues, promptly reporting more complex problems to management.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety procedures during the handling of recyclables and machine operation.
- Proactively assist customers with bottle return inquiries or issues, providing friendly and helpful service.
- Maintain an organized, clutter-free, and clean work area at all times.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy containers repeatedly (up to 50 lbs) throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and safety protocols relevant to a retail environment.
