Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audio Systems Designer with a strong focus on AV integration to join our dynamic team in Pearland, Texas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive design of complex audio systems for a variety of environments, including corporate, education, government, and entertainment venues. This role requires a deep understanding of audio principles, signal flow, acoustic considerations, and advanced AV integration technologies. You will work closely with clients, sales, project managers, and installation teams to deliver world-class audio solutions that exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering of sophisticated audio systems, including sound reinforcement, conferencing, distributed audio, and recording solutions.
- Develop detailed system schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment lists using industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Visio, D-Tools).
- Conduct site surveys and acoustic analysis to inform design decisions and optimize system performance.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, gather requirements, and present design concepts and solutions.
- Create comprehensive bid documents, scopes of work, and technical proposals.
- Stay current with emerging audio technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project managers and installation teams during deployment.
- Perform system commissioning and testing to ensure designs are implemented accurately and function as intended.
- Participate in client meetings and project reviews to ensure satisfaction and project success.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in AV system design, with a strong emphasis on audio systems.
- Expertise in audio DSP programming (e.g., Biamp, Q-SYS, Extron, Crestron).
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for creating technical drawings and schematics.
- In-depth knowledge of audio principles, acoustics, signal flow, and networked audio protocols (e.g., Dante, AVB).
- Strong understanding of AV control systems integration.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- CTS-D certification (Certified Technology Specialist – Design).
- Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with acoustic modeling software (e.g., EASE, CATT-Acoustic).
- Familiarity with video conferencing platforms and their audio integration.
- Experience designing for large-scale or mission-critical environments.
