Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic ADHD Support Coach to join our specialized behavioral mentorship program. This role is crucial for providing personalized guidance and support to individuals of all ages living with ADHD, empowering them to develop effective coping strategies, organizational skills, and self-advocacy. The coach will work collaboratively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized plans that foster independence, academic success, and overall well-being. This is an on-site position based in Huntington Beach, CA, integral to our commitment to comprehensive mental health support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions to assess client needs, set realistic goals, and develop actionable strategies for managing ADHD symptoms.
- Provide guidance on executive function skills including organization, time management, planning, and task initiation.
- Help clients develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience.
- Collaborate with clients to identify strengths and interests, leveraging them to build self-esteem and motivation.
- Educate clients and their families about ADHD, effective treatment options, and community resources.
- Monitor client progress, adjust coaching strategies as needed, and document session notes accurately and timely.
- Facilitate communication between clients, families, educators, and other healthcare providers to ensure a cohesive support system.
- Stay current with best practices, research, and interventions in ADHD support and behavioral health.
- Adhere to professional ethical guidelines and maintain client confidentiality.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing coaching or mentorship to individuals with ADHD.
- Strong understanding of ADHD across the lifespan and its impact on executive functions, emotional regulation, and social interactions.
- Excellent active listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with diverse client populations.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing individualized coaching plans.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and case management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Counseling, Special Education).
- Certification as an ADHD Coach (e.g., from an ICF-accredited program).
- Experience with various behavioral intervention techniques and motivational interviewing.
- Familiarity with local educational and community resources for ADHD support.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
